Art Gallery Web Design

I had the opportunity to develop this project after visiting a Michelangelo chapel exhibition, where I was inspired by the beauty, detail, and expressive depth of Italian Renaissance art. The exhibition revealed how Renaissance masters used balance, proportion, and storytelling through composition , principles that shaped the foundation of my design approach.

The goal of this project was to translate the essence of Renaissance art into a modern web experience. I incorporated architectural motifs such as domes, arches, and symmetrical layouts to echo the structural harmony of the period. Warm, earthy colors guided the viewer’s eye across the page, while lighter backgrounds prevented the design from feeling crowded.

The gallery and “Important Figures” sections were designed with rhythm and repetition in mind, using consistent framing and alignment to keep the focus on the artworks. By blending classical inspiration with contemporary design principles, this project presents Renaissance masterpieces in a digital format that feels both engaging and timeless.
